  17. DESCRIPTION
  18.      AgentMon  monitors  tests  as  defined  in  the  text   file
  19.      testtab.{HOSTNAME} .  This testtab file is expected to be in
  20.      $ENLIGHTEN/config, where $ENLIGHTEN represent the top  level
  21.      product  installation  directory.   Each  test  may  also be
  22.      remotely monitored and managed via SNMP.  When a test  value
  23.      exceeds one or more of the user defined thresholds, AgentMon
  24.      may emit an Enterprise Specific  Trap,  send  an  alarm  via
  25.      email,  start  a user specified program that could possiably
  26.      take corrective action, and/or notifies PEP.  The local user
  27.      may  define  and alter tests by editing testtab.{HOSTNAME} .
  28.      The network manager may manage tests by using the  SNMP  SET
  29.      commands  from  most  any  SNMP  compliant network managment
  30.      application.  All enterprise specific traps may be individu-
  31.      ally enabled and dissabled via SNMP . AgentMon does not rely
  32.      upon SNMP and will  run  without  hinderance  in  non-  SNMP
  33.      environments.

  36. OPTIONS
  37.           -t testname
  38.                Disregard the  normal  testing  interval  for  the
  39.                named  test  and  run  the  test every 15 seconds.
  40.                (See RESTRICTIONS below )
  41.           -x   Causes AgentMon to print (to stdout) it's  impres-
  42.                sion of the current tests configuration.  The out-
  43.                put is identical in form to the testtab  file  and
  44.                represents  the  logical  sum of the test defaults
  45.                and the current  contents  of  the  testtab  file.
  46.                This  is  a  good  way  of  verifing that AgentMon
  47.                understands your testtab edits.

  49. NOTES
  50.      The testtab file does not exist prior to the  first  invoca-
  51.      tion  of  AgentMon  It  will however, be created immediately
  52.      after startup.
  53. DIAGNOSTICS
  54.      Complains and exits if a connection with  the  AgentENL  (or
  55.      other agent) can not be made.  AgentMon will exit gracefully
  56.      if communications with the agent goes away.
  57.  
  58. RESTRICTIONS
  59.      Only one test may be specified with the -t option.  This  is
  60.      intended to be primarily a systems troubleshooting aid.  The

  76.      always checked every thirty seconds.
